We’ll be doing AC a little bit differently, so we wanted to have a page that would walk you through it in case you ever need a guide, a refresher or anything in between. Don’t panic, though; hopefully, this method will make AC easier on all of us!

As a reminder, AC requirements are as follows:
• 25 comments across a minimum of two and a maximum of five threads.

OR

• One post AND a minimum of one additional thread and a maximum of two threads adding to 10 comments
Due to the capped nature of the game, AC requirements will not be up for negotiation. We will not be using a strike system and we will not be accepting retroactive hiatuses. If there is a problem, please come to the mods ahead of time -- at least two weeks before AC closes. AC is open all month to make it easier to submit at your leisure. Therefore we won’t be granting AC amnesty to be fair to everyone submitting AC or who may wish to join the game after cap is hit.

Hiatuses can be taken, of course! A hiatus must span two weeks within the month of AC for AC exemption.

Due to Awash's themes of inclusiveness and character bonds, there are a few additional AC rules:
• You may use a maximum of 1 inbox thread for AC.
• You may use a maximum of 1 thread with castmates for AC.
• You may not use threads with the same characters as you used for the previous AC.

What about top level comments?
Top level comments and their ensuing threads count as a single thread for AC regardless of the number of people who tag in, and we will require an additional thread for AC should you be using the first option to turn in AC.

Can we use threads with characters who tagged into our top level the next month?
Yes! As you have no control over who tags into your top level, you can use a thread with characters from that top level for AC the next month if need be. This naturally does not apply if only one character tags into your top level; in that case, that would be considered a single thread with that character.

What constitutes a post?
A post can be a network post or a log, but they must have more than one thread in them. For example, a closed log to a single character would be considered a single thread, but a log with multiple tag ins would be considered a post if you posted it, and could be used in AC that way. This applies to both logs and network posts.

What about three-way threads?
Three-way threads are still considered a thread with that same character; if you have a thread with character A one month, and a thread with character A and character B the next month, that thread would still be considered a thread with the same character. Please keep that in mind!

Here are where things get different. AC will be submitted through a google form. The form is open for now though it will be closed while AC is being processed, which will be the 1st through the 3rd of every month. AC will open at 9 PM EST on the 3rd of each month, and will be posted alongside the monthly mod post. The form closes automatically when AC closes (last day of the month at 9 PM EST), so pay attention to the time and get it in early! Threads must be within the AC period; they cannot be from the previous month, and the comments must be from before AC ends for the month (9 PM EST on the last day of the month).

The required forms of the form are marked in red. The form won’t allow you to submit until you’ve filled in all of the fields. Any forms not marked in red can be safely left blank.

This is an example of how the initial form should be filled in. Capitalization, etc isn’t important, just make sure the important information is there!

The section for threads should be filled in like so. If you are using a post and a single thread, you can simply put N/A for the third thread section, like this.

The final section of the form is for if you were on hiatus. Please check yes or no and link to your hiatus comment if you were on hiatus! While you’re welcome to mark that you were on hiatus even if you’re turning in AC, if you are using a hiatus to clear AC, please be sure to mark yes.

And that’s it! Once you hit submit, the form will be sent in for processing. If you made a mistake, don’t worry. Google forms allow you to edit your submission after the fact and will give you a link to be able to do so. If you realize you made a mistake a week later and don’t have that link, it’s still okay! You can submit the form again.

As a note, please be aware that you must submit one form per character. If you’re playing a second character, you’ll have to submit twice!

AC will be a mostly player-run system. Responsibility will be on the players to make certain that their AC is sound. AC will be open all month long, so there will not be monthly AC danger lists, though we will make an announcement that AC will be closing at the end of the month as a reminder. Please try to get your AC in early so that you don’t have to worry! AC will always be due on the last day of the month, at 9 PM EST.

After you submit your AC form, your submission will appear here. That is the spreadsheet for AC. This spreadsheet will be checked periodically by the AC mod and the status of your AC will be marked on the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet will look like this, for all of the possible cases: passed AC, failed AC, and a not-yet-processed AC.

As stated above, there will be no danger list. It is your responsibility as a player to check your AC submission at some point in the month and make sure that you’ve passed.

If your AC submission has failed (such as due to miscounted comments), you can hover over the cell with "failed" in it, to see the reason why. Here is a cap as an example.

(Fun tip! You can sort the spreadsheet as you please by clicking the drop-down arrow in the title of any column, and then sort the list as you please, like so.)

Again, be certain to check your own AC submission! If your AC fails and is not fixed by the end of the AC period, you’ll be removed from the game, just as if you hadn’t submitted AC. If you submit your AC on the very last day of the month, in the interest of fairness, you will have a 24 hour period in which to submit your fixed AC. All AC forms submitted on the last day of the month will have 24 hours from when the mods check your AC to submit any necessary revisions, so please double check your AC after you have submitted it! The form will be closed at this time, so please submit AC revisions after that point via PM. After that, it will be treated as having missed AC.

Thank you for reading this guide, and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us or ask on the FAQ.
